Novell Groupwise and POP access

Older posts may not align with who I am today and how I would think or write, and may have been written in reaction to a cultural context that no longer applies. Some of my high school or college posts are just embarrassing. However, I have left them public because I believe in keeping old web pages aliveāand it's interesting to see how I've changed.
- Problem
- I was unable to access Novell Groupwise email through a POP client. I'd heard Novell likes to do things their own way, so I wasn't sure this was possible.
- Solution
- Groupwise does indeed support POP and SMTP - you just have to contact IT to find out the server names (they aren't standardized, as far as I know.) In my case, the servers were email-in.wooster.edu for POP and email-out.wooster.edu for POP and email-out.wooster.edu for SMTP. Make sure you check the "SMTP uses authentication" box (or similar cont
